Our Calendar of Connection: Events That Bring Yalies Together

At the Yale Club of the Suncoast, we’re always busy learning, socializing, or planning our next great event!

During the high season, when the snowbirds are in town, we host informational lunches and dinners with fabulous Yale professors or local nonprofit, civic, or artistic leaders. We also take part in an annual YHP luncheon with the Princeton and Harvard clubs, where we rotate as hosts. We cheer for Yale at “the Game” every November and attend baseball or other sporting events nearby that interest us. We even join the worldwide “Feb Club Emeritus” month, along with roughly 100 other Yale Clubs around the world, hosting a party in Sarasota one evening each February in memory of those cold nights in New Haven that could only be warmed by a party somewhere on campus every night of the month. During the winter months, our Alumni Schools Committee diligently interviews prospective students for the next class of Yalies, and every Spring, we welcome our newest accepted students and their families to a special event in their honor. In the meantime, we also explore Sarasota County’s treasures—from the Hermitage artists’ retreat and Selby Gardens to the Ringling Museum and the Sarasota Orchestra.

During the off-season, we gather casually for lunches every second Tuesday of the month at Marina Jack’s restaurant.

Thanks to our new Club Relations Management system, any member wanting to plan an event of any size or type—whether trying yoga on the beach, sampling a new restaurant, or organizing a group to attend a show—can do so easily! Connecting with fellow alumni who share your interests has never been simpler!
