April 13, 2019,

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing three opportunities for our Yale Club of the Suncoast to participate in service to our Sarasota community as part of the International Yale Day of Service program. I look forward to participating with you in these programs.

  • Homeless Veteran’s Stand Down will take place on April 13th. Many of our members have already signed up to volunteer for this event and it is fully subscribed at this time.

  • Easter Seals of Southwest Florida invites volunteers from our Yale Club to come to their “Kids Night Out” on April 13th from 4-8 PM at 350 Braden Avenue. (This street is a left turn off US 41 S just past the airport.)

This program is hosted by many community partners, e.g. Mote Marine, Ringling Museum and others and provides activities for Easter Seals clients while their parents have a “night out”. On April 13th they will be celebrating Autism Awareness Month and there will be an Easter Egg Hunt. A signup sheet for this event will be available at the luncheon on Wednesday 3/27.

If you have questions or will not be at the luncheon, you may sign up by calling Elaine Gustafson 203-676-9988

  • All Faiths Food Bank invites volunteers to come to their facility on May 1st, 12:45-3:30 PM at 8151 Blaikie Court, Sarasota, to assist with their “Backpack Program”. This involves a team of 10 or more persons sorting and packing backpacks of food for students to bring home for their families for weekends. You may sign up at the luncheons on 3/27 or 4/9 or by calling

Elaine Gustafson at 203-676-9988.
