New Speaker for Tuesday, 12/14 luncheon at the Sarasota Yacht Club will be Brian Kelly, ’61 speaking about Cyber Warfare. He will give us an overview of the use of computer technology to disrupt the activities of a nation or organization, especially the deliberate attacking of information systems for strategic or military purposes. Those knowledgeable of cyber warfare believe it is the greatest threat to our democracy and our personal security for the rest of our lives.
We will review our nation’s and our allies cyber story – successes and defeats – and review the cyber activities of one of the U.S.’s most potent adversaries – Russia.
The goal is not to make you a “cyber warrior,” but to raise your understanding of the highly secretive and largely invisible cyber weapon world, so that we, as a society, may help shape conversations before it is too late.
Brian Kelly, ’61, is Past President of the Yale Club of the Suncoast and a current board member. He spent 36 years in the petroleum industry, based in Italy for 9 years. Articulate, insightful, with a great sense of humor, Brian is an acclaimed public speaker.
