Author of the “Florida Buildings I Love” series in the Herald-Tribune, as well as his Sunday column, “Letter From Home,” Harold Bubil will present a slideshow featuring structures that reflect the architectural and social history of Florida. A historian of the state’s architecture and an entertaining speaker, Harold will tell the stories behind the buildings. Harold won the 2015 Bob Graham Architectural Awareness Award from the American Institute of Architects’ Florida/Caribbean chapter. He has covered architecture since 2000. He was real estate editor of the Herald-Tribune from 1994 until his recent semi-retirement. A native of Newport, R.I., Harold moved to Sarasota in 1958 and attended the University of Florida, where he graduated No. 1 in his journalism class.
