Once again this season members of the Yale Club of the Suncoast and their guests are invited to come to the Ringling Museum of Art for a private tour followed by lunch at the museum’s Muse restaurant. On the morning of Wednesday, February 28, docent Bob Hunter, who did such an outstanding job for our group last year, will lead us on a tour entitled “Stars of the Collection.” He will share with us his insights about the masterpieces of the permanent collection, including paintings by Rubens, Titan, Poussin, Velasquez, Reynolds, Hals, and Veronese. His remarks will be intended deepen our understanding of the artistic and historical importance of these works, even among those of us who have seen them before. This year’s visit promises to be another outstanding event for our club at the Ringling.
Please arrive at the Ringling Visitors’ Pavilion by 10:00 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, February 28. Lunch will be served at noon. The price for all entrees includes fresh berries for dessert and coffee, tea, or a soft drink. Please indicate a choice from among the following 3 entrees for each member of your party.
Muse Supergreen Salad—artisan greens/frisée/pea sprouts/lemon balsamic vinegar/salmon
Arugula and Shaved Cauliflower —radicchio/butternut/candied cashews/lemon-pomegranate
Zapped Chicken Sandwich—zap potato chip crust/ blue cheese ranch/lettuce/tomato
The cost of the lunch is $35 per person.
There is one important difference from last season.
We can no longer schedule our private tour on a Monday, the only day when admission is free for all. Consequently, individuals who are not entitled to enter the museum without charge as Ringling members and cannot obtain a guest pass from a member must pay an entrance fee of $15 in addition to the $35 charge for lunch. For this fee they should write a separate check payable to the Yale Club of the Suncoast and include it with their check to cover the cost of the lunch.
